How it began ...

Hello there!  

I'm Shirley Pelayo, a budding business owner in the realm of online shopping.  I spent an incredible 25 years of my life as a bank executive, working with the biggest institutions in the industry.  

In 2019, after battling cancer for three years, I took a courageous step and decided to trade my business suits and heels for a new path I have envisaged for some time.  This pivot allowed me to focus on what truly matters to me:  my health, spending quality time with my family, exploring new places, and my passion for bringing beautiful home projects to life.

With a sincere desire to help career women boost their personal brand, I initially engaged in selling imported branded ladies’ dresses as a side hustle for more than 10 years.  My travels to Europe, coupled with a love for making our homes an expression of our personalities, made me expand into vintage and contemporary home décor items as well as well as elegantly crafted floral arrangements. Further in 2023, I launched my handmade lampshades business after taking a course from the top lamp maker in UK. My high-trust selling approach has garnered me a loyal following.

My unwavering enthusiasm for delivering happiness through the discovery and creation of ideal products to enhance one’s lifestyle led to the creation of the Shelley Thomas online platform.  Through this store, I hope to share my passion for making accessible to a wider community elegant yet functional pieces that add spark to our lives.
